About the event

——— versione italiana disponibile a breve ———

🇬🇧 The workshop focuses on the methodological approach of citizen science, which entails the involvement of citizens in multiple stages of the scientific research process. Citizens are no longer merely engaged in data collection or results dissemination; rather, they actively participate and are guided by researchers throughout every phase of the study.

The citizen science approach thus enables citizens to gain a deeper understanding of researchers' work, develop an interest in and stay informed about globally relevant issues, and experience the satisfaction of contributing to research that will have an impact on both them and their communities.

The workshop aims to explore how a citizen science research project can be structured, its main advantages and challenges, and to present emblematic studies that have adopted this approach.
